Ethereal Feminine Essence

This creation is rooted in cultural preservation, showcasing the beauty of traditional attire worn by groups of young women from seven different ethnic groups: Hmong, Lahu, Lisu, Akha, Iu Mien, Dara-ang, and Long-necked Karen. It reflects the mountain-dwelling wisdom and craftsmanship in garment making, a tradition passed down through generations. The work also draws inspiration from the Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts' two-tribe hill dance performance, reinterpreting and expanding on the legacy of hill tribe artistry.

VRKSASANA AND SURYA NAMASKAR

in relation to the outside world. We'll begin with three exercises, starting with the Vrksasana

(tree pose), which helps participants assess their own balance. From there, we’ll guide

every muscle and is an excellent foundational practice for any artist.

BEYOND SIGHT - AN IMMERSIVE EXPLORATION IN ECSTATIC PLAY

Inspired by Kampung Buangkok, the last standing Kampung in Singapore, the team explores juxtapositions of  modernities and nostalgic kampong life to bring out the dualities of living in a kampong in a cosmopolitan city like Singapore and how both young and old residents adapt to the changes both within, and without. The area was featured in a January 2009 New York Times article headlined "Singapore prepares to gobble up its last village," This is our response.
